Punch Needle Rug Hooking DIY Class

If you want to try your hand at the art of punch needle rug hooking, this is the class for you. Starting with a small kit you will make a small punch needle hooked project. Skills covered will include:
- Positioning base fabric on the frame
- Drawing (tracing) a simple design
- Suitable yarns
- Threading a punch needle and types of punch needles
- The basics of punching
- Finishing
Your piece will not be finished during class but all stages of rug hooking will be covered and simple directions for completing your piece will be provided. Kits will be distributed the day of class and include all of the materials you will need to complete your piece except a needle and thread for hemming and scissors. You will be using the instructor’s equipment (gripper strip frame and cozy and Oxford punch needle.) Equipment is available for purchase after the class. Please bring a pair of small scissors, like embroidery scissors, with a pointed tip to class.
