
Plein Air Watercolor &/or Oil

$80Join us for a day of Plein Air (outdoor) instruction in Park Rapids. Whether you are a seasoned artist or a beginner, this class offers a fantastic opportunity to immerse yourself in the beauty of nature while honing your artistic skills. Thursday is a watercolor class and Friday is a water-based oil class.
Participants will receive basic instruction, including techniques for capturing light and shadow. We will be using non-toxic paints and thinners. Darcy will guide you on how to create a notan (light-dark harmony) prior to starting your painting with guide on seeing shapes and tonal values.
This is the perfect opportunity to take advantage of a seasoned Plein Air artist, Darcy Brambrink. Participants should bring along the following; sunscreen, wear clothing appropriate to weather conditions, water or any other type of beverage, lawn chair and wide brimmed or cap. The site for this class will be determined 2 weeks before the instruction and our area will include a restroom and water.

Class will be held at the Mantrap Lake Day Use Area. Directions are: From Park Rapids take Co. Rd. 4 north 12 mi. to Emmaville (Co.Rd. 24); turn right (east) 1.5 mi. to Co.Rd. 104; turn left (north) and follow signs 0.75 mi.
